Its amazing how much food we can grow, even in a small backyard! This class will cover plants, design, and maintenance of an edible landscape. Topics include fruit trees and shrubs, vines, and innovative garden ideas.

Gardening with Native Plants

Native plants are a wonderful addition to backyard gardens or a small landscape. They provide food and medicine, attract wildlife, and are beautiful and easy to care for. We will discuss many of our local native species, their uses and cultivation, as well as basic design.

Forest Gardening, Guilds, and Perennial Food Plants

This course explores the ideas of forest gardening and companion planting on a large scale.  We will introduce you to many perennial food plants that grow well here.

As a plant nursery, we specialize in plant propagation the Organic way.  We will talk about many different methods of propagation including fruit tree grafting.  We will have time for hands-on practice and propagation. You can bring home a grafted tree that you worked on!
